The Middletown Fire Company No.1 Ladies Auxiliary recently donated (4) Oxygen/Resuscitator Units and (4) Med/Trauma Kits. The donation was made a a regular business meeting of the Fire Company. Captain John Drucker and President Robert Carhart accepted the much needed equipment from Auxiliary Treasurer Kim Somerville. The equipment was immediately placed on each of the companies four apparatus. A star or of life was affixed to the compartment door of the each vehicle to mark the location of this critical lifesaving equipment to rescuers. This act represents a long company history of advancing its capabilities. In 1998 the fire companies first responder problem was launched wherein members were trained to the First Responder/Defibrillator (FR-D) level and the first Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) placed into service on Engine 181.
